Mark Schindele is executive vice president and chief stores officer for Target and a member of its leadership team. In this role, he leads more than 350,000 team members and oversees the operations of the company’s nearly 2,000 stores.
Mark joined Target in 1999. Since then, he has held numerous leadership positions across a range of Target’s business operations, including merchandising, sourcing and operations. Beginning in 2015, he served as the senior vice president of properties for Target, during which he was responsible for the company’s ambitious remodel and small-format strategies, enhancing the guest experience and introducing Target to new guests in densely populated and urban areas. Prior to joining Target, Mark held various merchandising roles at Macy’s.
Mark currently serves as a member of the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management Board of Advisors.
Mark received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota.
