The holidays are getting nearer, and Target teams across the country are preparing to serve guests during the busiest (and most fun!) shopping season of the year. To make sure we’re fully staffed and ready, we’re offering existing team members additional hours, and are in the process of hiring more than 130,000 seasonal team members to help them out.

If you’re thinking about applying for a seasonal job in our stores and would like more info—or the chance to talk to our team members in person—the perfect opportunity is right around the corner.

Join us for our fourth annual seasonal hiring events taking place at every Target store:

  • Friday, Oct. 11 through Sunday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time
  • Saturday, Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 3, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time

During these times, candidates can stop in at any store to meet with leaders and interview on the spot with the chance to receive a job offer during the weekend events. Applicants are encouraged to apply in advance to request a specific interview time during the events.

Can’t make it during these events? No problem: You can also stop in anytime at your local store or distribution center to talk to the team, or apply online at TargetSeasonalJobs.com. All new hires will start at $13 an hour or more, be eligible for a range of benefits, including our work.win.give. appreciation program, and lots more.

Each year, tens of thousands of team members come aboard as seasonal hires, and many go on to build their careers at Target. We caught up with a few to hear how they made their big debut at the Bullseye … and what happened next.

Cody L.
Food & Beverage Team Leader, Madison, Alabama

“My first job at Target was as a seasonal hire back in 2014 after a family member who worked there told me about the opportunity. I worked afternoon or evening shifts in the style department. And I’ve been here ever since! I’ve taken on other roles over the past five years, including food service team leader and general merchandise team leader, before landing my current job.

I’ve enjoyed building connections with our guests over the years, and each holiday season I look forward to wowing them with our great shopping experiences. I started a tradition for my team where I write everyone a card and make them a candy bag. They work hard all year and it brings me joy to show them my appreciation. My advice to anyone thinking of joining the Target team this season? Have fun, work hard, and be willing to always learn something new!”

Christina S.
Executive Team Leader (ETL), Specialty Sales, Depew, New York

“I started in 2011 as a seasonal guest advocate. At 16, it was my very first job, and I was so proud to say that I worked for Target! What initially drew me in was the fun and friendly environment—no two days are ever the same. I’ve had many opportunities at this company, from seasonal hire to permanent team member, and now my current ETL role. The amount of growth and prosperity I’ve seen at this company over the years is truly inspiring—it’s my reason for never leaving. Target will continue to change and grow, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store.”

Tina F.
Human Resources (HR) Expert, Wake Forest, North Carolina

“Back in 2018, I decided to apply for a seasonal job in general merchandise at my local store. The decision was easy because Target is my favorite place to shop for home décor, and I wanted to make some extra holiday cash while taking advantage of the team member discount. Those were my reasons for applying—but my reasons for staying were very different. I formed new friendships, learned a lot about logistics, and realized what a great place Target is. The atmosphere is energetic, fun, passionate and caring. Our leadership team is amazing—they’re always there to help, encourage and challenge us.

I accepted a permanent position after my seasonal job ended and looked forward to furthering my career. In March of 2019, I joined HR because my leader encouraged me to train for it, and I’m so glad she did. A year ago, I never would have guessed I'd get these opportunities to learn and grow with my fellow team members in an environment that’s encouraging. Target has a ‘one team’ philosophy and I am so happy to be a part of it.”
