It’s been quite a road for Drive Up, Target’s top-rated service that brings guests’ online orders to their cars for free, no membership required. With Drive Up’s latest expansion, guests in all 50 states can experience the game-changing service.
In fact, Target is the first retailer to offer a service like Drive Up in every state. And guests everywhere have reason to celebrate: Drive Up has the highest guest-satisfaction rating of any Target service.
“We’ve heard the message loud and clear from our guests: They absolutely love the ease and convenience of Drive Up, whether they’re shopping for household essentials, road trip snacks or baby gear,” says Dawn Block, senior vice president, digital. “So our team has worked hard to rapidly expand the service since its introduction less than two years ago to all 50 states. And the work’s not done. The team’s continuing to find ways to make the service even better.”
In less than two years, Target’s been able to expand the service to nearly 1,750 stores with Drive Up’s most recent rollout to many stores in:
- Alaska
- Hawaii
- Washington
- Oregon
- Idaho
- North Dakota
- South Dakota
- Montana
- Wyoming
(Psst … A special heads up: Our team has been known to surprise guests at new Drive Up locations with free product samples when they pick up their orders. Consider it another perk of an unbelievably easy Target run.)
How’d we bring Drive Up to all 50 states in record time? A lot of hard work from our amazing team. They built the Drive Up technology from the ground-up. And earlier this year, they made it easier for team members to retrieve orders quickly and deliver multiple Drive Up orders to one guest with a single scan. And fun fact: If you hear the sound of a car horn in Target aisles, that’s our team’s signal that a guest is in the parking lot ready for their Drive Up order.
All that innovation has allowed us to grow the service, fulfilling almost 5 million orders in the first part of 2019 alone (more than double the number of total Drive Up orders in 2018). And the team will continue to refine the experience and make it easier for more guests to enjoy the service.
Ready to try Drive Up? It’s simple! Choose from thousands of items in the Target app and select Drive Up at checkout. Target notifies you when your order is ready for pickup (often within an hour), and you alert your store when you’re on your way. Then park in the designated spot so we can load up your vehicle in less than two minutes.
