A role at Target Printing Services (TPS) means becoming part of a dynamic team that drives the strategy of internal partners such as Marketing and Store Operations through print and kitting projects. The TPS team has a wide range of responsibilities including but not limited to planning, press, fulfillment, and distribution, enabling us to positively impact guest and team member experiences while embodying Target’s core values.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
As the Prepress Manager, you will lead and develop a team of production professionals within Printing Services. You’ll set daily production goals, manage team performance, and foster a positive, collaborative culture centered on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
You’ll oversee all prepress operations — from project coordination and file preparation to proofing — ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient output. This includes training staff, maintaining supplies and equipment, and partnering with other departments to meet production schedules and standards.

This role is 100% on-site at our Brooklyn Park printing facility. This is a M-F dayside leader role.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and manage the Prepress team, including preflight and variable data staff.
· Oversee daily workflow through the prepress process to production.
· Coordinate with planning, scheduling, and production teams to ensure alignment and communication.
· Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
· Ensure cross-training so all team members can perform preflight, prep, plating, and variable work.
· Develop and maintain standardized workflows, templates, and layouts for consistent quality.
· Partner with Planning to refine proofing workflows and educate internal teams and customers on proofing tools (e.g., InSite).
· Guide file setup, die lines, and color adjustments to ensure printability and consistency.
· Manage training programs and provide coaching, performance feedback, and development plans.
· Maintain and troubleshoot prepress software and equipment (Kodak Prinergy, Preps, Epson, Fuji Plate Maker, etc.).
· Act as the point of contact for planners, production, and customers regarding file creation and quality.
· Provide feedback on file standards to improve input quality from customers and planners.
· Support automation initiatives for variable data file creation.
About you
Required:
· 5+ years in a litho and digital print environment
· 5+ years of prepress experience (Preflight to Plate)
· Proven leadership and performance management skills
· Strong communication and customer service abilities
· Excellent multitasking and organizational skills in a fast-paced setting
