Recorded Video Interviews

Some of our business areas use a recorded video interviewing system, which allows you to showcase your skills and experience without the pressure of a live interview. Check out this video and the tips below for more information to help you prepare.

What to expect

We know doing a recorded interview can feel a little strange at first, but we’re here to guide you through the process.

Invitation

You will receive an email from “Target Careers” that includes a link to practice and start your recording when you’re ready.

Device

Use any smartphone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone. Please ensure your device is charged, the internet connection is strong, and the camera and microphone are working. You will have the opportunity to test your camera and microphone.

Practice

The practice interview will give you a practice question and allow you to watch your response and make any adjustments needed.

Record

Find a well-lit, comfortable space free from distractions. When you begin the interview, watch the introduction video entirely, as you will not be able to replay it.

You will then be asked a series of questions. and prompted to record your video response after each question. If you don’t like your recording, that’s okay. You will have a chance to re-record. Target will only see the final recording that you submit.

Timing

Plan for the total interview to take about 30 minutes. Pay attention to how much time is given for your video response. If you finish your response to a question and there is still time on the clock, that’s okay

Next steps

Once completed, a Target recruiter or hiring manager will watch your video responses, review your resume and application and get back to you with next steps within five business days from the time your video is received

Accommodations

The recorded video interview will have a video, audio and timing component. In compliance with state and federal laws, Target will make reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities. If a reasonable accommodation is needed to participate in the job application or interview process, store candidates can reach out to the specific store directly, contact guest services at (800) 440-0680 or connect with their recruiter, if applicable. HQ and supply chain candidates should reach out to candidate.accommodations@HRHelp.Target.com.
