A role within Planning and Inventory Management (PIM) means bringing a well-informed, strategic perspective to how we plan, buy, position, and manage inventory across the enterprise. This work is foundational to delivering strong sales, profit, inventory accuracy, and guest reliability outcomes across the Planning and Inventory Management pyramid. Success in this space requires driving cross-company coordination, building strong partnerships across roundtable teams, and collaborating closely with functions beyond Merchandising, including Store Operations, Supply Chain, Technology, Finance, Assets Protection, and Properties. Teams in this function balance long-term strategy with real-time operational execution to ensure inventory accuracy and visibility are optimized to meet both financial goals and the evolving needs of our stores and guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Planning onboarding and learning programs by owning the end-to-end new hire experience, continuous learning strategy, and role readiness to accelerate time-to-productivity.
  • Design and maintain scalable learning resources, including curriculum, SharePoint, playbooks, best practices, job aids, and documentation that evolve with Planning processes and technology.
  • Enable Planning modernization by partnering with Product, Strategy, Operations, and cross-functional business teams to develop and execute learning and change management strategies that drive adoption of new capabilities, systems, and ways of working, including key Planning transformation initiatives such as PlanIT Assortment and Financial Planning, Demand Planning, and the Global Assortment Operating Model.
  • Partner across Planning to identify capability gaps, represent the Planner perspective in change initiatives, and equip leaders and mentors with the tools and resources needed to support their teams.
  • Measure and continuously improve learning effectiveness through feedback, adoption metrics, and business outcomes, ensuring learning programs remain relevant, impactful, and aligned to organizational priorities.
  • Represent Planning and total PIM in merchandising change, engagement and training alignment.

About You

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in Merchandise Planning, with experience in Learning & Development, Program Management, Inventory Management, Organizational Enablement, or Change Management preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Planning processes and business operations.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Self-directed with the ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and drive results.
  • Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.
