About Future Collective  

  • Launched in September 2022, Future Collective is a first-of-its-kind apparel and accessories Target owned brand, featuring collections in partnership with a rotating roster of style and cultural influencers with diverse points of view.
  • Through Future Collective, Target offers a new style story and aesthetic with each partner, providing even more new and on-trend options — all at a great value. Each partner will encourage guests to explore and celebrate their own individual style.
  • With each partner, Target will launch three to four collections over a four-month period.
  • All collections will be available on Target.com and in select Target stores, as well as via Target’s contactless same-day pickup options, Drive Up and Order Pickup.

About the second collection: Future Collective with Gabriella Karefa-Johnson 

  • Launching in January 2023, the latest collection is co-designed in partnership with Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, a New York City-based fashion editor and stylist who is transforming the fashion industry with her distinctive point of view.
  • The Future Collective with Gabriella Karefa-Johnson collection celebrates individual style while bringing Gabriella’s maximalist fashion aesthetic to the forefront. The collection brings together abstract prints, unique textures and bright pops of color punctuated by neutral hues, so that every guest can find something they love.
  • The collection includes nearly 100 items over three seasonal refreshes, with the first collection launching January 29, 2023, and the final collection refresh launching in spring 2023.
  • The collection includes dresses, skirts, outerwear, matching sets and trousers in an inclusive size range of XXS-4X and 00-30, and ranges in price from $10-$50, with most items under $35.
  • Future Collective with Gabriella Karefa-Johnson is one of the many ways Target continues to support and partner with Black entrepreneurs, creators and designers, further advancing our Racial Equity Action and Change (REACH) commitment.

About the first collection: Future Collective with Kahlana Barfield Brown

  • The Future Collective brand debuted in September 2022 with our first partner, Kahlana Barfield Brown. The collection ran through January 2023.
  • Kahlana, a Howard University alum and former InStyle Beauty Director turned style expert, first worked with Target when she joined Target’s social creator program, where she developed style and fashion content for her social channels.  
  • One of Kahlana’s first collaborations with Target was on the Black Beyond Measure campaign, which highlighted the importance and rich history of historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).  
  • The Future Collective with Kahlana Barfield Brown collection was inspired by Kahlana’s closet and personal fashion formula, and featured 120 items over four seasonal refreshes. The collection of streetwear-inspired pieces such as matching sets, dresses and trousers was available in an inclusive size range of XXS-4X.
  • Future Collective with Kahlana Barfield Brown is an example of our REACH commitment in action, supporting and partnering with Black entrepreneurs, creators and designers.
