Every product tells a story — and some of our favorites begin with small businesses whose dreams we’re proud to support.
At Target, we’re proud to be a leader in incubating and launching new brands into the marketplace. Over the past five years, we’ve launched over 750 successful brands that will eclipse $1 million in sales this year, with over 75 of them being exclusive small entrepreneurs that have sold over $1 billion since launch. And since 2024, Target and Target Foundation have donated $30 million in support of over 100 nonprofits serving small businesses. Through programs like Target Takeoff and Accelerators, Target partners with these brands and organizations to help entrepreneurs scale toward retail success by providing education, mentorship and resources that open doors for these brands to scale to mass retail.
Celebrating Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday is Nov. 29, an annual day encouraging consumers to shop small, local businesses. To celebrate our ongoing commitment to small businesses, we’re spotlighting some of our newest Target Takeoff brands. Since 2017, our signature Target Takeoff program has helped emerging consumer packaged goods brands grow and scale in preparation for launching at Target, and these are the latest batch of innovative entrepreneurs shaping the future of retail with fresh ideas, style and diverse perspectives.

- K’Lani – Stylish hair ties designed for active lifestyles
- Skala Cosmetics – Beauty products that celebrate diversity and inclusivity
- Wildbird – Premium baby carriers that combine comfort and style
- Nemah – Clean, sustainable skincare for moms and babies

Expanding our impact through nonprofits
Target’s impact on small businesses is amplified through partnerships with nonprofits that share our vision for inclusive economic growth. We’re working with these organizations to provide hands-on support, education and resources to help entrepreneurs thrive, while bringing a unique approach to strengthening communities.
In Philadelphia, The Enterprise Center CDC has spent more than three decades advancing economic equity by supporting minority-owned businesses and revitalizing West Philadelphia. Their work recently included a major renovation project that created opportunities for area contractors. “We are proud of our partnership with Target whose support these past two years has assisted us with the renovation of 277 S. 52nd Street … creating real opportunities for small, local contractors to grow their businesses while reinvesting directly into our community,” says Kim Carter, executive vice president of The Enterprise Center CDC.
Meanwhile, in Chicago, Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago (ICNC)’s Make City program focuses on strengthening the city’s Kinzie Industrial Corridor through business support and workforce development. “Through Target’s Forward Founders Accelerator, 17 of our entrepreneurs have benefited from education, mentorship and guidance … empowering them to scale in retail and achieve substantial growth,” shares Maria Moran, chief executive officer of ICNC.
On the West Coast, The Alliance for Community Development (ACD) promotes investment in low-income Bay Area communities and connects founders to capital. “Our partnership with Target helped us support community transformation! This collaboration allows our team to be rooted in the communities we serve and provide hands-on, customized business support,” says Melanie Nuni, director of programs and partnerships at ACD.
Looking ahead
Target’s commitment to small businesses is about more than retail — it’s about creating shared success. Through programs like Target Takeoff, Accelerators and our nonprofit partnerships, we’re helping entrepreneurs scale their ideas into thriving brands. These partnerships bring fresh, innovative products to our guests while giving small businesses the visibility and resources they need to grow. It’s a win-win: guests discover great products they love, and up-and-coming brands gain the reach to succeed in mass retail. Together, we’re building stronger business communities and driving inclusive growth.
