She’s on the Clock and Ready to Rock — Here’s How Target Lady’s Celebrating Target Circle Week

  • Apr 2, 2024

Every member of Team Target arrives to work excited to help all families discover the joy of everyday life — that is our purpose, after all. But there’s one person who takes Target fandom to a whole new level, and she’s returning, red vest, bowl cut and all, to help us celebrate our guest-favorite Target Circle Week event starting April 7.

That’s right: Actress Kristen Wiig is back in her beloved Saturday Night Live (SNL) role as the Target Lady to bring the laughs and her infectious enthusiasm directly to Target in the character’s first national advertising campaign.

From deals applied automatically at checkout and access to unlimited same-day delivery — plus savings on thousands of spring items — the series of 12 ad spots leaves no doubt that nobody’s more pumped for the new Target Circle and Target Circle Week deals than Target Lady.

And you don’t have to go far to see them yourself. Check out a few of our favorite ad spots featuring Target Lady in her Target-inspired house, behind her red and white checkout lane and everywhere in between as she eagerly gets ready for (and celebrates) her favorite time of year.

“Like so many, we’re big fans of Kristen Wiig and her iconic Target Lady character from Saturday Night Live. So as we prepare to introduce the new Target Circle and thousands of new deals during Target Circle Week, it’s only fitting that we partnered with Kristen to create some memorable new laughs courtesy of the one and only Target Lady,” said Lisa Roath, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Target. “We’re thrilled with this campaign and can’t wait for everyone to see it and join in the fun that can only be found shopping at Target!”

Don’t wanna wake up, the deals are too good

From her closet full of red Target vests and a Bullseye-themed breakfast to over sharing her favorite deals at the checkout counter (as usual!), Wiig as Target Lady brings the magic wherever she pops up. But imagining her in 2024 was an amazing group effort. We worked closely with Wiig, former SNL writer James Anderson and director Tom Kuntz to dream up each scenario, like this run-in with Target Lady’s manager:

The result blends the best of Target Lady with the latest and greatest here at Target: the new Target Circle launch and kick off to Target Circle Week. And if you listen closely, you’ll notice we also nod to Target’s roots in Minneapolis with a musical cameo from American musician and hometown icon, Prince and The Revolution, with “Baby I’m a Star.”

Catch the Target Lady in action

We’re showcasing a few of our favorite Target Lady ad spots here, but there are a lot of other ways to catch her at work. Target Lady makes her debut today across multimedia platforms, including TV, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Target Finds and more.

And even after Target Circle Week, Target Lady’s not going anywhere. You can still catch her after April 13 in a series of TV commercials showcasing how our three new Target Circle offerings — Target Circle, Target Circle 360 and Target Circle Card1 — can help you save all year round. If you're curious about those memberships, which include new ways to save like deals applied automatically at checkout, orders to your door and saving an extra 5% every day2, we’ve got you.
