In true Target ‘fashion,’ guests lining the runway tonight at World MasterCard® Fashion Week (WMCFW) were treated to not only a taste of the trends in store this holiday season, but a surprise visit from top Maybelline New York spokesmodel, Erin Wasson.  Wasson opened and closed Target’s first ever WMCFW runway show featuring stylish home décor pieces and more than 40 holiday looks for men, women and kids. Target’s beloved bull-terrier mascot, Bullseye, was also on hand for the festive finale.

“Target is thrilled to present affordable holiday looks alongside some of Canada’s top design talent,” said John Morioka, senior vice-president, merchandising, Target Canada. “Making fashion accessible to all is an important  part of the Target brand, so we’re proud to host a show in which guests can personalize the stylish and budget-friendly looks they see tonight just in time for their own holiday celebrations.”

With a warm palette of grey, red, burgundy and winter white, the halls were completely decked with holiday décor and imagery from Target’s very own Threshold collection and exclusive Beaver Canoe for Target home décor lines.  The snowy runway was also lined with Threshold chairs, accented with holiday-themed pillows and throws, all while holiday carols and pop favourites played in the background.

The presentation showcased seasonal trends such as rhinestones and metallics against a colour palette of black, grey, ivory and red.  Brands featured this evening included:  Mossimo Black, Merona, Mossimo Supply Co., Beaver Canoe for Target, Threshold, Smith & Hawken, Sam & Libby, Circo, Cherokee, Foxy Originals and Cocoa Jewelry; with beauty looks created by Grace Lee, Maybelline New York Lead Makeup Artist Canada.

“The first of the two makeup looks for the Target show was inspired by Erin Wasson. It’s a bronzed, subtle smoky eye with a nude lip - girl next door with a rock n’ roll vibe. The second look is a more mature, classic red lip. It’s chic, bold and a perfect match for Target’s holiday line,” said Grace Lee, Maybelline New York Lead Makeup Artist Canada.

Target is well-known for great design at affordable prices and its innovative partnerships.  American model, designer, entrepreneur, and actress Erin Wasson, who has graced such catwalks as Chanel, Gucci and Lanvin, opened and closed the show, marking her first Canadian runway appearance. One of Maybelline’s best known ‘faces’ for over 11 years, Erin has served as both muse and designer for various fashion Collections since 2008. Target also enlisted Dan Levy, Target Fashion Ambassador, to provide behind the scenes content for Target’s social channels and digital platform, ABullseyeView.com.

To round out Target’s presence at WMCFW, Target partnered with Maybelline New York and Mattel to create an interactive installation in the fashion environment, offering a Maybelline lip-colour touch-up station so guests can primp, tweet and enjoy Target sweets throughout the week.
