It’s about the quality of the most important parts of life: health, career satisfaction, social relationships, financial security and connections to the community. When these elements are in balance, people feel and perform their best. And we’re working hard to provide the tools and resources our team members and their families need to achieve their personal best.

Together with our partners, we’re taking important steps to create a healthier, happier workplace for our teams. We’re proud to be a founding member of the Alliance to Make US Healthiestlink opens in a new window and the Alliance for a Healthier Minnesotalink opens in a new window, two coalitions on a mission to improve the health of our communities by improving workplace health. We’re also one of four organizations that piloted US Healthiest’s HealthLead accreditation programlink opens in a new window – a comprehensive assessment of a company’s employee well-being policies and practices – and received silver accreditation status.

We believe prevention is an important step toward healthier communities, and we’ve set goals for our team members based on this philosophy. From getting recommended preventive health screenings to putting our financial tools to use, these goals help us measure and report our progress in improving the health of our team.

well-being captains

Personal well-being is not the same for everyone. To support our team members in achieving their personal goals, we've named well-being captains at each of our stores, distribution centers and pyramid divisions. These team members, who number more than 1,800 across the company, inspire their teams to embrace well-being in fun and creative ways, including organizing health-themed competitions and activities, leading volunteer efforts and celebrating success stories.
