Attention Target Guests: This Sunday’s Weekly Ad Will Have One Big Difference

If you love saving money on all your favorite Target products, it’s a safe bet you’re scoping out our Weekly Ad on the regular. It’s an important way we share our top deals and value offers with guests—and for those who prefer the print version, we’re about to add a planet-friendly new feature.

We’ve already been printing our Weekly Ad on recycled paper in many markets for years—but beginning this Sunday, Feb. 25, we’ll switch to using paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

FSC is the world’s most trusted global certification standard in forest management. It means FSC-certified products always come from responsibly-managed forests, and that the people and animals who depend on these forests are protected. So yeah, it’s a big deal for the bullseye.

“Target is proud to be the first major U.S. retailer to move a printed circular to FSC-certified paper,” said Rick Gomez, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Target. “It’s one way we’re doing our part to support responsible forest management and help protect forests for future generations.”

Working toward FSC certification for some of our products and brands is one important step toward achieving our owned brand forest product goals by 2022. For example, our Spritz brand of party supplies will be 100% FSC-certified by the end of 2018, and we currently offer guests a wide variety of FSC-certified products across a number of other departments, including beauty, home and food & beverage.
