Target is pleased to announce plans to open new stores in Bronx-Throggs Neck and Sayville, N.Y. in July 2014. The new Bronx-Throggs Neck store, located near the intersection of Lafayette Avenue and Hutchinson River Parkway just north of the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, will be part of the new Throggs Neck Shopping Center. This store will be Target’s third store in the Bronx. The new Sayville store, located near the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Broadway Avenue, will be the 21st store on Long Island.  These two stores make up a total of 60 stores in the New York City area.

The Bronx-Throggs Neck store will be approximately 165,000 square feet, and the Sayville store will be approximately 144,000 square feet.  Both locations will offer guests the everyday essentials and exclusive brands they have come to expect from Target. In addition, the stores will include a selection of fresh produce, fresh packaged meat and pre-packaged baked goods, as well as a Starbucks, Target Optical and a Target Pharmacy, to further enhance guests’ shopping experience.

The Bronx-Throggs Neck and Sayville locations will each employ approximately 200-250 team members. Target will host job fairs approximately two months prior to the new store openings, at which prospective candidates may apply and interview for open team member positions. Candidates may also apply online at Target.com/careers or at in-store kiosks located in all Target stores approximately three months prior to the new store openings.

“We are delighted to announce two more stores coming to the New York City area,” said Samir Shah, Target’s senior vice president of stores, northeast. “The new Target stores will allow us to deliver our “Expect More. Pay Less.” brand promise to even more guests in the area, and continue our legacy of giving to the local community.”

Target creates strong partnerships with local organizations in all of the communities where the company does business through Target’s community giving programs. The stores will start a local grant program, contribute to the United Way and donate food to a Feeding America member, or an approved agency. Target also encourages team members to volunteer their time to serve the needs of their community.
