Target.ca/careers designed as a one-stop resource for job seekers

Target Canada announced today the launch of a new website, Target.ca/careers – a comprehensive resource for Canadians interested in learning about Target’s fun, collaborative work environment and job opportunities at Target’s Canadian offices and stores.

The site features information about Target’s history, mission and values. It also gives Canadians a glimpse into the company’s work culture, which promotes the growth and development of all team members.  Target Canada will regularly post new job opportunities as it prepares to open stores in 2013, and Canadians interested in receiving updates are encouraged to check back often and sign up to receive job alerts via email.

“We will be welcoming thousands of Canadians to our team in the years ahead, and Target.ca/careers will help us connect with people who want to join Target and help us transition into the Canadian market,” said Tiffany Monroe, vice president, Human Resources for Target Canada. “We are looking forward to meeting talented Canadians with a variety of skills, abilities and backgrounds who will thrive in Target’s collaborative, results-driven work environment.”

Target Canada is currently hiring team members for positions at its headquarters office in Mississauga, Ontario, in a number of areas, including human resources, merchandising, healthcare, real estate, design and property management, supply chain and distribution support, legal and risk management, assets protection and loss prevention and marketing. Target’s Canadian headquarters will be home to approximately 100 team members by the end of this year, and more than 500 by the time Target stores open in 2013.

In addition to corporate positions, Target is looking for talented individuals with relevant professional experience and exceptional leadership skills to fill district team leader positions, responsible for overseeing groups of stores across Canada. Target will begin hiring additional team members for its Canadian stores, including guest services and sales floor staff,  in 2012.

Target plans to open approximately 125 to 135 Target stores beginning in 2013. Each store is expected to employ 150 to 200 team members.
