Target Stores throughout the Bay Area Receive Multiple Design Reinventions for Enhanced One-Stop Shopping

  • MINNEAPOLIS
Several Target stores in the San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose, CA area are being redesigned to further deliver one-stop shopping convenience for guests. Most redesigned stores feature an inviting open-market fresh food layout, stocked with a selection of fresh produce, fresh meat and baked goods. The new layout also includes reinventions in several other areas throughout the store such as beauty, home, baby and shoes, to provide guests with the ultimate shopping experience, all at a great value.

The increased fresh food selection is designed to make fill-in shopping quick and easy for guests on-the-go. Most stores offer a selection of national food brands and Target owned brands, including Archer Farms premium foods, Archer Farms Simply Balanced better-for-you products and Sutton & Dodge premium quality USDA Choice beef.  On average the stores offer guests approximately 40 percent more food offerings than a general merchandise location.

“We heard from our guests that they wanted more fresh food options in the convenience of their local Target store,” said Annette Miller, senior vice president of grocery, Target.  “Our guests lead busy lives, and with the increased food selection, we’ve made it easy to complete their grocery list or pick up tonight’s dinner during their regular Target shopping trip.”

In addition to the expanded food layout, remodeled stores also include upgraded beauty department displays featuring softer lighting and curved fixtures, as well as interactive screens to help guests select the right beauty products for individual needs. The home department has added wider aisles and lower product fixtures offering easier navigation and enabling guests to see more of the department at a glance.  The baby department has broadened the visibility between baby gear, supplies and apparel allowing for an easier shopping experience throughout the department.  The shoe department provides better product visibility and has enhanced guest comfort with additional seating and mirrors.

  • Oakland-Emeryville, 1555 40th Street, Emeryville, CA
  • Hollister, 1790 Airline Hwy, Hollister, CA
  • Watsonville, 1415 Main St, Watsonville, CA
