Target announced today it has donated $500,000 to assist with Japan’s earthquake and tsunami relief efforts. The donation was made to Save the Children, which has already mobilized an immediate and direct response to the crisis. In addition to providing food and medical care, Save the Children also remains after a disaster to help communities rebuild through long-term recovery programs.
“When disaster strikes, Target listens and acts quickly to provide meaningful support to people in need,” said Gregg Steinhafel, Chairman, President and CEO, Target. “Our thoughts are with all those affected by the earthquake and tsunami and we hope our donation will aid in the country’s recovery.”
Target guests and team members are encouraged to visit the Save the Children website to learn more about how they can help victims of the earthquake and tsunami.
