Retailer continues to offer designer fashion at affordable prices with Gaby Basora’s exclusive limited-edition line

Target is partnering with celebrated designer Gaby Basora to create the next limited-edition collection for GO International®, an innovative program designed to provide affordable fashion created by world-renowned designers.  Known for silk-printed blouses and dresses, not specific to any age, style or state of mind, Tucker is a favorite of fashionistas with a youthful spirit and lifestyle.  Basora will launch the exclusive Tucker for Target collection on Target.com/go and at most Target stores nationwide on September 12, 2010.  The collection of women's apparel, including tops, bottoms, dresses, outerwear and knitwear, will be available through October 17, 2010.

“Gaby Basora offers women pieces they covet – wearable, beautiful clothes that provide effortless style and timeless appeal,” says Trish Adams, senior vice president, Target. “We are honored to have her create a collection for Target and to share her vision with our guests, providing designer fashion at a great value to women everywhere.”

While fall may bring cooler weather, a woman’s wardrobe will remain vibrant with stand-out pieces from Tucker for Target.  The collection is an eclectic mix of bohemian-chic bold prints and versatile shapes that are ideal for layering; a printed tee pairs well with a herringbone trench and brocade skirt, while a rust-orange hooded jacket makes a chic statement over a magenta flower blouse and herringbone shorts.  An assortment of eye-catching graphics including butterflies, polka dots and large florals, paired with spicy hues such as taupe, pumpkin and brick red, transform classic silhouettes into fresh must-haves.

Hard-working, creative, talented, funny, flawed, genuine, unstoppable, mother, wife –Gaby Basora is all of these things and they are the definition behind her Tucker collection.  With the intention to create something easy and beautiful for her busy and versatile lifestyle, Basora designed the original “Tucker blouse” for herself in the summer of 2005, made from silk with a button down front and shirred neckline. Everywhere Basora went women stopped her, friends and strangers alike commented on her blouse, and at that moment Tucker was born.  Within months, Barneys New York placed its first order for Tucker by Gaby Basora.  In five short years, Basora has gained international recognition for her Tucker collection, now a full line incorporating dresses, coats and lingerie; it is now found in more than 200 retail locations worldwide, including Barneys New York, Harvey Nichols and Bloomingdale’s as well as boutiques around the world.

Geometric and nature-inspired patterns on Basora’s signature blouses and flirty dresses act as the foundation for the collection and can be mixed-and-matched with a knit vest for a dose of carefree autumn style.  A black boucle dress with a fitted waist and touch of sparkle, as well as a printed tie-neck blouse worn with a herringbone pencil skirt, make day-to-night dressing as simple as a change of shoes and jewelry.  Tucker for Target brings up-to-the-minute fashion and everyday sensibility to the GO International program with easy-to-wear silhouettes that range from $19.99-$79.99.
