ERICA: When I think of growth, I just think of like what inspires me. I came from very, very, very humble beginnings.

 

At Target, Erica checks items on shelves, then speaks with another employee as clips of her interview play in between.

 

ERICA: I came from a very rural area, like my parents never went to college, so that was great for them to even see… for something for them to be proud of and talk about. Dream to Be through Target is a program that a offers basically debt free education, or it pays up to a certain amount of your education. There are… I don't even know how many programs to choose from. Whatever field you want to go to, there's a starting point there for you. It taught me a lot and I was able to share it. Like, I shared with my store teams. I share the things that I learned because it taught me a lot about what was going on in food like the supply chain, the logistics… Even like the organizational leadership… Even taught me, even better, how to influence in stores, how to bring the team along, like how to get the buy in from the store teams… For them to see my footprints in stores.
