At Target, strengthening the communities we serve has long been part of who we are. Every June, during Community Month, we celebrate that commitment through volunteerism, community partnerships and investments that help fuel growth and opportunity for all. This year, one example of that commitment was the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, where thousands of athletes, coaches, families and fans gathered in Minnesota, Target’s home state.
As a Platinum Sponsor, Official Tennis Sponsor and sponsor of Target Village for competitors, Target was proud to help welcome athletes from across the country while creating experiences that celebrated perseverance, connection and the joy of competition.
The celebration started before the Games even began. In communities across the country, tennis athletes visited their local Target stores to prepare for the journey ahead, selecting travel essentials, apparel and other items with Target gift cards. At Target headquarters, team members assembled thousands of welcome bags to greet athletes and coaches as they arrived in Minnesota.
Throughout the competition week, Team Target helped create memorable moments for athletes and fans alike. From welcoming athletes to Target Village and celebrating the Opening Ceremony to hosting interactive experiences at Fan Fest and recognizing tennis champions during medal ceremonies, our partnership was rooted in one goal: celebrating the extraordinary athletes at the heart of the Games.
Those moments were made possible by the passion of Target team members, who volunteered their time, welcomed guests and cheered on competitors throughout the week. Together, they helped create an experience that reflected the spirit of the Games and the power of community.

While the competitions have concluded, the impact of the partnership continues. Special Olympics is one example of how Target brings its commitment to strengthening communities to life—creating opportunities for people to connect, celebrate and support one another.
That same commitment extends beyond the Games. Across our business, we’re working to create products, services and shopping experiences that are more accessible and welcoming for millions of guests every day.
