Global Supply Planning (GSP) designs and activates upstream supply and inventory
strategies for Owned Brands, connecting Planning & Inventory Management, Sourcing, and
production to enable reliable and flexible supply, faster reaction, and sustainable growth
for Target. The centralized GSP Operations team provides the project leadership,
processes, data, reporting, and operating infrastructure that enable the function to execute
priorities effectively and operate with enterprise alignment.
About the Role
As a Manager, Global Supply Planning Operations, you will lead cross-functional projects
and initiatives that advance GSP’s strategic and operational priorities. You will be
responsible for translating business objectives into structured project plans, mobilizing
cross-functional teams, driving execution, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring
initiatives deliver measurable outcomes.
You will serve as a project leader and integrator, bringing together partners across Global
Supply Planning, Planning & Inventory Management, Sourcing, Technology, and other
teams to solve complex operational challenges. You will establish clear scope, milestones,
roles, governance, and decision-making mechanisms while creating visibility to progress
and escalating issues when needed.
The role combines project leadership with process improvement and analytical
problem solving. You will use data and reporting to identify opportunities, measure
outcomes, and support decisions, while also helping strengthen GSP's operating routines,
processes, and tools. You will lead multiple workstreams and initiatives simultaneously
and influence teams without formal authority.
Core Responsibilities

momentum and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Mobilize and lead project teams across GSP,
Planning & Inventory Management, Sourcing, Technology, Data, and other partner
organizations. Establish clear roles and working norms, facilitate productive discussions,
and align teams around common outcomes.
Project Governance & Execution: Establish effective project governance, including
working-team routines, leadership updates, decision forums, action tracking, and
escalation paths. Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and changes
in scope.
Stakeholder Management & Communication: Build strong relationships with business
partners and leaders across functions and geographies. Develop clear project
communications, executive updates, recommendations, and decision materials. Influence
without formal authority and navigate differing priorities to drive alignment.
Process & Operating Model Improvement: Identify opportunities to simplify and
standardize GSP processes and ways of working. Lead development and implementation
of scalable processes, operating routines, SOPs, playbooks, and governance mechanisms
that improve execution across the organization.
Change & Implementation: Partner with stakeholders to move solutions from design into
execution. Develop implementation approaches, readiness plans, communications,
documentation, and adoption mechanisms to ensure changes are successfully embedded
into day-to-day operations.
Problem Solving & Decision Support: Structure ambiguous business problems, identify
root causes, evaluate alternatives, and facilitate decisions. Bring together business
context, stakeholder perspectives, and quantitative insights to develop practical
recommendations.
Data & Analytics: Use data and analytics to inform project priorities, evaluate
opportunities, establish baselines, and measure business outcomes. Partner with
analytics and technology teams to define reporting and measurement requirements and
ensure appropriate visibility to performance.
Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring operational pain points and lead sustainable
solutions that reduce manual effort, clarify ownership, improve execution, and increase
organizational effectiveness.
