At Target, we love a chance to surprise our guests, and this year we found the perfect partner to help us add a little magic to the holiday season: actress and singer Hilary Duff. Hilary recently helped us surprise lucky Target Circle members with $500 Target GiftCards at our Woodland Hills Target in Los Angeles. Hilary had guests smiling as she made her way through the store, shopped for toys, signed a few copies of her latest children’s book and handed out GiftCards (and even toys and dog treats) to Circle members shopping in-store or picking up their Target Drive Up orders. The event was a fun way to shine a spotlight on Target’s incredible toy assortment, just in time for holiday shopping.

We caught up with Hilary to learn more about her day with Target and to find out what’s in her Target cart.
Why were you excited to team up with Target for this holiday surprise?
My family and I are huge Target fans. I love how Target treats their guests, and it was so exciting to make an impact for families during the holiday season.
What was your favorite moment?
Delivering the Drive Up orders. I love to surprise people, and getting to be part of the joy of the holidays by giving GiftCards to Target, a store where everyone shops, was huge!
What toys are you most excited about?
The Target toy shopping cart is so cute! My kids always want to push the cart in the store, too. I love that Target makes small ones. Also, L.O.L. Surprise! is a big deal in my house — they make great stocking stuffers. And they’re not technically toys, but I love the gingerbread house and hot cocoa stand kits. They’re so much fun, and it’s so smart that Target made food kit options that aren’t a huge time commitment.
What is always in your Target cart?
Toys, always! We always hit the toy aisle first. Barbie, games … we love a game! Snacks, food. And we always get seasonal pajamas at Target. I just bought golden candlesticks — they’re all different heights which will be so pretty on my holiday table.
