As Target’s new chapter of growth continues to take shape, we’re excited to welcome a new member of our leadership team. Grant McGee is joining Target on May 31 as executive vice president and chief legal and compliance officer.
Grant will lead our legal, compliance & risk teams, as well as our government affairs function. Together, these teams shape the policies and standards that help us accelerate progress on our strategy. Their counsel strengthens our business while upholding the responsibilities we have to our team, guests and partners.
Grant comes to the team with 20 years of broad-based legal expertise and experience in large, consumer-facing global companies. His fresh perspective and sharp focus on consumers are a perfect fit for our ambition to be the most delightful experience in retail.

What excites you about this new challenge at Target?

What made you choose Target? What inspired you about this role?
It’s twofold. Personally, Target is a brand that’s been part of my life at every stage — from furnishing my first apartment to everyday essentials for my daughter and gifts and decorations for every holiday. Professionally, this is a transformative moment in retail, and I see tremendous opportunity for Target to deliver on its strategy and create an exceptional experience for our guests.
