Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month 

Target celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month each year with our guests and team members. Throughout May, Target and our Asian Business Council spotlights Asian-owned and founded brands, shares stories from our Target team members and educates about the Asian American experience in our country through special events and volunteer opportunities.

Target is also a founding sponsor of the Twin Cities Asian Executive Leadership Conference hosted in partnership with the Asian American Business Development Center and Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics. The event convened more than 1,000 attendees from companies such as Best Buy, 3M, Medtronic and more with the goal of bringing Asian professionals together in Target’s hometown to engage in conversations about issues affecting the Asian community.

Asian Business Council

The Asian Business Council (ABC) is one of eight Diversity and Inclusion Business Councils at Target. With more than 3,500 members, the ABC’s mission is to champion an inclusive work environment where Asian team members find belonging and growth. Focused on professional development, career path, personal growth and awareness, the ABC is about finding and creating belonging for Asians, advocates and allies across Target.  

Stop Asian hate

Target stands firmly against racism, racialized misogyny and xenophobia in all forms and we stand with our Asian team members and members of the Asian American community. Through the Target Foundation’s approach of driving systems-level change, we are committed to centering equity and investing in BIPOC organizations. As part of our commitment to action against hate, we invested $250,000 in organizations led by Asian Americans, working to empower the Asian American community, addressing gender-based violence and xenophobia, and advancing justice. 

Supplier diversity

Target’s proud to work with an ever-growing roster of diverse suppliers and each partner, in their own way, helps us champion inclusion within our assortment and far beyond. Target partners with the U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce to further our initiatives and help us develop relationships with Asian suppliers. We've extended our list of diverse suppliers, helping us meet our guests’ needs and champion inclusion within our assortment including: Cocokind — a natural and organic beauty brand that also supports female entrepreneurs; K-Mama – authentic, vegan Korean hot sauces; and Sweet Chef— a vegan and cruelty-free skincare line.
