TargetCorporation (NYSE: TGT) announced today a $60,000 donation to assist with Texas wildfire relief efforts. A $25,000 cash donation was made to the American Red Cross with the additional cash and product donations made to other nonprofit organizations in the Texas area.
Target teams provided 12,000 bottles of water, 3,600 bottles of Gatorade, and 500 boxes of snacks to Bastrop Public Works yard today, along with donations of clothes, diapers, toiletries and bedding to support wildfire relief efforts.
“When disaster strikes, Target listens and acts quickly to donate time, money and essentials to help support the needs of our communities,” said Gregg Steinhafel, Chairman, President and CEO, Target. “Our thoughts are with those affected in Texas and we hope our donation will aid in the community’s recovery.”
Teams from across Target spend countless hours preparing for disasters of any magnitude and will continue to help Texas residents and communities across the country before, during and after a crisis.
This year, Target has given more than $1.2 million in disaster relief aid to nonprofits that distribute funds where support is most urgently needed.
