Drop 2 is another love letter to Pokémon fans.
After an unforgettable debut, Pokémon x Target is back with Drop 2 — and it’s all about giving fans more ways to join the celebration.
Launching June 6 in Target stores and online, Drop 2 continues to celebrate 30 years of the beloved Pokémon franchise with more than 40 new products featuring deep fandom details. The collection, co-created with The Pokémon Company International, is designed to thrill the community, including families, longtime Trainers and new fans alike.
“Drop 2 is another love letter to Pokémon fans,” says Gigi Guerra, vice president, creative curation. “Every detail was thoughtfully considered — from the biggest statement pieces to the smallest hidden touches — so fans can discover something new each time they engage with the collection.”
Designed for fans, by fans
The Target team behind the collection drew on their own love of the franchise – and Target’s authority in merchandising great products – to create distinctive designs, “if you know you know” details and products that honor the Pokémon legacy.
For a closer look, watch this video, featuring Target team members and lifelong Pokémon fans Taylor V., Kelvin L., Connor M., Brooke C. and Max J., who preview some of Drop 2’s items and share the subtle design touches that bring the collection to life.
For the initial launch in April, Target partnered with Pokémon fans and content creators to share the news with their followers and appear as real-life Trainers across the campaign. Sydeon and PhillyBeatzU return for Drop 2, bringing the collection to fans across their social platforms.
With more than half of the assortment priced under $20, and items starting at just $8, the collection has something for every fan and reflects Target’s commitment to delivering quality, style and value.
What’s coming
Drop 2 features a mix of standout hero products and design details, built with Trainers in mind. Explore the Drop 2 lookbook. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at some of the product highlights.
Kanto Region 151-piece Pokémon Puzzles bring Pokémon scale to life in an entirely new way. A clever nod to the original 151 Pokémon discovered in the Kanto region, they were designed at Pokédex-accurate heights to give fans a rare real-world look at the true scale of iconic Pokémon, from a 1’4” Pikachu to a towering 5’7” Charizard.
The idea was sparked by something many fans have wondered for years: How big would these Pokémon actually be in real life? Seeing Charizard’s scale compared to Pikachu’s, or realizing how tall Bulbasaur, Butterfree or Gengar would be next to you, adds a whole new dimension to the fandom experience. By translating Pokédex measurements into full-scale puzzles, the team created an interactive way for Trainers to experience the wonder, curiosity and imagination that have always been at the heart of Pokémon.
Pokédex Graphic Tees were designed as a tribute to the original Pokémon experience and a generation of fans who first fell in love with the Pokémon world. From discovering new Pokémon to memorizing Pokédex entries, the act of playing, learning and building connections with Pokémon became part of the magic of growing up with the franchise.
Just as memorable were the personality-filled Pokédex descriptions, from iconic entries like Snorlax’s “Very lazy. Just eats and sleeps.” to the humor and quirks that made each Pokémon feel special. The tees were created to let fans playfully embody the energy of the Pokémon they connect with most.
Poké Ball Kickballs were born from a simple insight: Fans have always wanted to do more than just collect Poké Balls. They’ve wanted to throw them, catch them and play with them. Inspired by conversations with the Trainer community and fueled by pure nostalgia, the team reimagined the iconic Poké Ball as a fully playable kickball.
The idea also tapped into the energy of classic ‘90s kickball and dodgeball games, bringing the spirit of Pokémon battles into real-world play. Equal parts keepsake and playground favorite, the Poké Ball kickballs transform a beloved symbol into an experience fans can actually jump into together.
Johto and Hoenn Pokémon Starter Jackets follow the incredible fan excitement around the earlier launch of the Kanto region Starter jacket. New region-inspired designs celebrate Johto and Hoenn. Each jacket features a Pokémon-inspired color palette alongside region-specific details that longtime Trainers instantly recognize and love, from embroidered gym badges to beloved first partner Pokémon.
The jackets celebrate not just the Pokémon themselves, but the deep nostalgia tied to choosing your first partner Pokémon, earning badges and building your team along the way. Designed to feel like a wearable extension of the adventure, each piece captures the pride, loyalty and memories that come with the region fans call their own.
