The pay range is $131,000.00 - $236,000.00

Financial Products and Services (FP&S) supports three main business lines, including Circle Card operations and associated profit share, bankcard expense management and interchange fees, and prepaid (i.e. gift card) operations. This dynamic business is seeing continued change, including the rebrand of our store card from Red Card to Circle Card, and a stronger tie-in to Loyalty, as well as continued banking regulation changes impacting the cost to accept payments at Target, and the evolving strategy around gift cards. As a director in FP&A supporting this space, not only will you be responsible for forecasting and driving day-to-day business results, you will also be tasked with helping shape the future of a large source of income for Target.

As the Director, Financial Products and Services (FP&S) FP&A, you will:

  • Lead the Financial Products and Services FP&A team, including directing and prioritizing work, providing growth opportunities, and coaching and developing in-role and for broader career goals, while providing real-time, actionable feedback
  • Provide timely and value-added financial analysis and visibility into financial performance for partner groups, including strategic planning, capital investment decisions, and reporting
  • Evolve and improve financial routines and processes with business partners, including establishing Monthly Business Review forum, creating all-in business line P&Ls, and automating self-service financial reporting
  • Be a strategic thought partner to business leaders, to help drive Circle Card’s long-term strategy, driven by business case development and scenario planning
  • Lead annual Goal and long-range planning processes for FP&S, including resource plans and admin budgeting, in partnership with Loyalty and Merchandising partners
  • Utilize and develop processes and financial models to accurately guide business and human capital investment decisions
  • Lead the development of budgeting processes for all FP&S expense centers
  • Partner with both FP&S and Loyalty to deliver improved performance in the Circle Card portfolio across the short- and long-term horizon

About you:  

  • Four-year degree preferably in Finance or Accounting , or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of ten years of Finance experience, FP&A preferred
  • Minimum of five years of experience hiring, leading, and developing teams including a demonstrated ability to set and execute a clear direction for your team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with and influence others, including all levels of management
  • Ability to work in ambiguity and drive strategic business cases
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative and self-motivation
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
  • MBA/CPA/MA preferred

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
