The pay range is $73,200.00 - $131,700.00

About the Role:
As an Engineer supporting Target's Human Resources technology portfolio, you will focus on building, enhancing, and supporting features within one of the world’s largest Workday implementations. You will also work on complementary technologies outside of Workday to drive additional business value and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Development: Collaborate with product owners and senior engineers to design, build, and maintain software components that are robust, scalable, and secure.
  • Workday Integrations & Extensions: Develop or support solutions involving Workday tools (e.g., EIB, Studio, Reports) and help integrate Workday with external systems and APIs.
  • Code Quality: Write clear, maintainable code; perform code reviews; contribute to the team’s best practices in testing and automation.
  • Operations & Incident Management: Participate in on-call rotations and resolve technical issues with minimal supervision, ensuring high availability and reliability of supported applications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Explore new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance team productivity and product quality.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship: Work in an agile environment with a cross-functional scrum team. Share knowledge and partner with team members to solve problems.

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of software development experience in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python, or similar).
  • Familiarity with distributed programming concepts, data structures, and design patterns.
  • Experience in Workday technology (e.g., EIB, Studio, Advanced Reporting), as well as web services, REST APIs, and XML/XSLT.
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment, including participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
