Can you effectively balance the efficiencies of a large-design build company with the unique challenges and innovative solutions required by individual sites? Then take your place on one of our Properties teams, and help us make the most of Target’s physical assets, both in the U.S. and overseas.

As a Lead Strategist – Performance on the Properties Program Initiatives (PPI) team, you will play a critical role in shaping how we assess, measure, and evolve the performance of prioritized enterprise-aligned store experience programs and special projects. You’ll lead end-to-end learning and performance management efforts for programs that align to enterprise goals and inform long-range strategy.

You will partner across the enterprise to develop and activate robust, scalable learning plans. These plans will define clear performance measures—including guest, operational, and financial KPIs—while guiding cross-functional teams through insights-driven decision-making. Your leadership will drive the translation of performance insights into actionable strategic recommendations, helping influence the future roadmap of Target’s store experience and physical portfolio strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to design and activate learning plans that align with enterprise strategies and clearly define success measures
  • Manage enterprise performance assessment across PPI programs, synthesizing guest, operational, and financial metrics into concise, strategic insights
  • Partner with stakeholders across Data & Analytics, Finance, Operations, and Guest Insights to align on outcomes and drive impact
  • Lead storytelling and communication efforts to socialize insights and recommendations across all levels of the organization
  • Define and manage routines that support end-to-end performance governance, including intake, tracking, and measurement forums
  • Support and influence enterprise planning and prioritization by surfacing performance implications that guide future decision-making
  • Advance how the business evaluates and evolves the existing store portfolio to optimize investments and enterprise outcomes

About You:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience
  • Deep experience in strategic planning, performance management, and data synthesis
  • Strong capability in creating and activating learning agendas across complex, cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to connect insights to enterprise strategies and translate them into commercial outcomes
  • Experience with performance data tools (e.g., Greenfield, SASS) and managing large, diverse data sets
  • Strong storytelling, communication, and stakeholder influence skills—able to translate insight work into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Exceptional Project management skills: Serve as the critical bridge between data teams, business units, and leadership. Brings rigor to planning: timelines, dependencies, roadmaps, ensuring alignment and accountability across all cross-functional partners.
  • Experience navigating ambiguity, working autonomously, and driving alignment in a gray or evolving environment
  • Knowledge of the Target brand and the in-store guest experience
