About us:

Target is an iconic brand, a Fortune 50 company, and one of America’s leading retailers.

As Director of Technology for Content Supply Chain within Target’s Marketing Technology (MarTech) ecosystem, you will lead technology platforms that power Enterprise Digital Asset Management (DAM), Content Data Management, and related capabilities. Your teams will be responsible for designing and developing robust, scalable platforms that streamline content workflows, manage digital assets efficiently, and deliver consistent, high-quality content across all consumer touchpoints.

You will drive strategic initiatives, identify and adopt emerging technology practices, and foster a high-performing team environment. This role requires close collaboration with Target’s creative ecosystem, including internal creative teams and external vendor partners, to ensure cohesive and efficient content management solutions.

You will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, aligning talent strategies, and maintaining regular communication across various functions, including Marketing, Digital, Creative Operations, and external technology providers. You will ensure technology solutions effectively support business goals and enhance guest experiences.

Using your skills and expertise, you’ll lead your teams toward innovative solutions and visionary objectives. As the Director of Technology, you will advocate and articulate Target’s technology vision, objectives, and strategic direction clearly to your teams and senior leadership. You’ll drive change, support critical business priorities, and foster a culture emphasizing agility, continuous improvement, rapid innovation, and calculated risk-taking.

Ensuring technology platforms are healthy, scalable, and reliable is paramount. Your deep understanding of content management architecture, digital asset management solutions, metadata management, and cloud-based platforms will be critical. As Target evolves its MarTech capabilities, you will guide the creation of modern, scalable platforms enabling seamless, personalized guest experiences. You will also oversee critical relationships with key technology vendors and partners.

Talent acquisition, development, and retention will be central to your role. You will build a diverse, high-performing team and champion a culture of collaboration, care, growth, and inclusion.

This role reports directly to the VP Engineering, MarTech.

  • 15+ years of related experience, including 5+ years in software engineering and 5+ years in leadership roles
  • Proven expertise in enterprise-scale content and digital asset management systems
  • Deep understanding of system design, architecture, metadata management, and content workflows
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably GCP), digital asset platforms, and content lifecycle management
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align technical strategies with overall business objectives
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in building and leading Agile teams that adopt modern CI/CD practices
  • Experience managing global teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively engaging senior leadership
