That oh-so-Target experience you’ve come to know and love multiplies over the holidays, when we turn the Tarzhay magic up to eleven — bringing the ease, the discovery, the joy, right to where you need it most. In fact, this holiday season, your Target run will feel downright fantastical, whether you’re cruising to Drive Up, perusing the Target app, or even just starting to plan for all things nifty and gifty. A fantastical experience

Imagine grabbing your holiday to-do list and heading to your neighborhood Target or opening the Target app. You’re busy and you’ve got a lot on your mind, but in true Target fashion, we’re going to make your visit easy, affordable — and delightful. It starts with the essence of this holiday’s Target experience: an unmistakable and iconic red and white swirl of peppermint. It’ll lead you on a joyful path through everything we have to offer this holiday season, with the pattern seen throughout our stores and extended to our marketing billboards and packaging for delicious new Favorite Day products, invoking memories of holidays past.

Keep following the peppermint ribbon throughout our store to find the Merry Cherry Chalet for gifts that delight (like cozy sweaters starting at $25) with a stop at the London station for Marks & Spencer holiday must-haves like biscuits and hot cocoa starting at $10. You’ll also visit Candy Cane Corner, with more than 50 new Favorite Day items including peppermint bark, truffles, cold brew and marshmallows. And you won’t be alone — a host of fantastical forest-inspired characters will accompany you on your trip, including Berry the Bear (pictured below). And as a special treat, a handful of our stores will play home to a 9-foot Berry for guests of all ages to hug and cuddle. Good news if you want to bring home that furry friend: Berry is also available as a Gigglescape plush toy. Pick him up, along with a pair of matching Wondershop pajamas for the entire family, to bring home the snuggles.

Inspiration in our aisles and beyond

A 9-foot Berry the Bear will be a special visitor at our stores throughout the holidays in Edina, Minnesota; Fishers, Indiana; Houston, Texas; Jersey City, New Jersey; Newport News, Virginia; Queen Creek, Arizona; Riverview, Florida; Roswell, Georgia; and Spring Hill, Tennessee. Berry will also be a guest in select stores in November and December, where we’ll unveil four different mini versions of Berry the Bear to give away to Target Circle members. We’ll also dial up the magic with three signature events around the country where guests can immerse themselves in a magical world inspired by fantastical forests and swirly, twirly peppermint paths. Target Wonderland will take place in New York City, Atlanta and Dallas, and feature shoppable and shareable experiences with brands like Hasbro, Marvel, LEGO and L’Oreal.

Happier holidays ahead

Our first holiday marketing campaign — Happier Holidays from Target — spotlights how an everyday Target run can take a turn toward the fantastical with a little Tarzhay magic. In the ads, Nico is a boy visiting Target with his mother when an encounter with Bullseye leads to a cinematic experience.

All around Nico a holiday fantasy comes to life, with his imagination conjuring reindeer and penguins roaming the Target aisles while a giant polar bear snuggles in for a nap. The big idea: We know magic lives in our aisles every day, but especially during the holidays.

“We’re all about igniting consumers’ imaginations and showing how Target helps all families experience the season as a feeling,” said Michelle Mesenburg, senior vice president of creative and content, Target. “That’s what our marketing will do over the next few months: remind guests that Target is on the holiday journey with them, whether they’re looking for inspiration or crossing things off their lists, and we are here to help them hold on to that magic all season long.”

The spots are set to the song “Pure Imagination,” recorded and co-produced by Griff, an acclaimed British singer, songwriter and producer who brings a fresh auditory experience to the campaign with her unique vocal style.
