Target Corporation (NYSE: TGT) shared today that the strong start to its holiday season has continued through the first part of December, as the company continues to position itself as the place for unbeatable value for last-minute shoppers. Key areas include Electronics, Apparel and Accessories, Home, and Grocery, among others. Additionally, Target has seen a significant increase in online sales, outpacing reported industry growth rates.

Target.com and Digital Growth
Results from Target’s digital platforms continue to surpass internal projections and overall online industry growth rates. Online traffic continues to grow at double-digit rates, with mobile sales growing more than 100 percent for the holiday period. Target.com experienced two of the strongest days of sales in its history on Thanksgiving Day and Cyber Monday. In addition, Target was recently ranked as the most-browsed retailer on mobile over the past six months, according to a new report from Mobiquity.
Cartwheel, Target’s first-of-its-kind program that offers guests a new way to save at Target stores, has gained more than 1 million new users this season, and now 4 million guests have signed up to save with Target since Cartwheel launched in May. With many compelling holiday deals to choose from, the average savings per guest has increased by more than 40 percent, and since launch, Cartwheel users have saved more than $25 million by shopping at Target.

Highlights of top selling items and categories this holiday season include:

Last Minute Shopping
With the final shopping days approaching, Cartwheel users can take advantage of a one-day sale on Dec. 19 when nearly 40 great gifting items – from toys and apparel to cookware – will have special offers with discounts ranging from 10 to 60 percent off. Also, last minute online shoppers can still receive many of their gifts – in time for Christmas, by picking them up in store.
