The NASCAR schedule took teams to their “backyard” over the weekend as the race was held at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Target team looked to better their best finish of seventh Saturday night. Starting from the 33rd position, Montoya quickly moved his way up to the front. After the first pit stop of the evening on lap 25, the No. 42 Target Chevrolet had moved up 17 positions to 16th. As the evening progressed the crew worked on a tight handling race car and made a total of seven pit stops for two and four tires. Pit strategy became key for track position and Montoya would lead one lap during the 334 lap event. The Target Chevrolet spent the majority of the evening in the top-15 and when the checkered flag waved Montoya was credited with the 11th position.

Teammate Jamie McMurray would go on to win the Bank of America 500. The win marks the third for McMurray and gives the Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates organization their fourth of the 2010 season.

Next up on the schedule is the Tums Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway. The race will air live on ESPN and radio stations affiliated with MRN on Sunday, October 24th at 1 pm (ET).
