Juan Pablo Montoya continued his hot streak of top-10 finishes when he brought home a ninth-place finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway over the weekend. The finish marks the fourth consecutive top-10 finish for the HUGGIES team and the 12th one of the season.

The HUGGIES team came into Atlanta with two consecutive top-three finishes at the mile-and-a-half track. Montoya looked to continue that momentum when the on-track activities took place Saturday morning. The No. 42 was third in final practice session and Montoya placed the HUGGIES Chevrolet eighth on the starting grid for Sunday night’s race. The strong qualifying effort marked the seventh consecutive top-10 starting position for the team.

When the green flag waved, Montoya battled some handling concerns early on but rallied back into the top-10 by lap 141. The No. 42 HUGGIES Chevrolet would stay in the mix for the remainder of the 325 laps; running as high as third and averaging a running position of ninth throughout the evening. A final pit stop on lap 304 for fresh tires and fuel would have Montoya restart in the 13th position. In the closing laps, the HUGGIES Chevrolet passed four cars and was credited with a ninth-place finish.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will head to Richmond International Raceway this weekend for some more night racing. The Air Guard 400 will air live on ABC and radio stations affiliated with MRN this Saturday, September 11 at 7:30 pm (ET).
