Upscale discounter to add 31st PFresh location in Philadelphia
Target (NYSE:TGT) today announces the opening of a new Target in Malvern, Pa. at 455 Carnegie Blvd. The new general merchandise store with expanded food layout has a grand opening on Sunday, July 25, 2010, and features fresh produce, fresh meat and bakery goods.
The Malvern Target offers everyday essentials including household products, electronics, clothing and seasonal merchandise in addition to more fresh food. This new format showcases an open-market layout and includes new food items that are on guests’ shopping list every week, such as bagged lettuce, fresh fruit and ground beef, for example. A balanced mix of family and single-serve portions will be available to accommodate guests seeking a convenient, fill-in grocery trip or simply wanting a fresh snack.
Amenities such as a Starbucks® and Target CaféSM are offered at the new store. The store also carries a wide range of national brands with its own Target brands like Archer Farms™, Choxie™, Market Pantry™ and up & upTM. The Malvern Target employs approximately 150 team members and is 138,000 square feet.
After opening the Malvern store, Target will operate 33 stores in Philadelphia, including 31 stores with the PFresh layout.
