There’s a moment every parent knows. You realize your child has outgrown something you just figured out how to use. A car seat, once essential, is suddenly no longer needed. What do you do with it?
For the past 10 years, Target has helped make that moment a little easier with our bi-annual Car Seat Trade-In event.
This year, it returns April 19 through May 2. Guests can bring in any car seat to a participating store and receive a 20% Target Circle bonus to use on new gear, along with additional in-store experiences and offers designed to help families shop for their growing household.
“Families trust Target to be there for them during life’s biggest milestones,” said Amanda Nusz, senior vice president of merchandising, essentials and beauty, Target. “With Car Seat Trade-In, we’re making it easier for busy parents to get high-quality, thoughtfully designed products for their little ones while easily recycling what they no longer need and saving on what comes next.”
Support for every stage
On April 25 and 26, select stores will have giveaways, samples and opportunities for families to connect and discover what’s new. It also marks the first Car Seat Trade-In event with Baby Concierge and Baby Boutique, offering both in-person and virtual support tailored to guests’ needs.
Savings across the full family shop
During the event, families can take advantage of deals across Baby, Toys, Food and Beverage, Home and Apparel. It’s designed to make it easier to check off multiple needs in a single trip, which is something every busy family can appreciate.
A simple step that goes a long way
Each car seat traded in is part of something bigger. Over the last decade, the program has helped keep more than 58 million pounds of materials out of landfills.
But the impact does not stop there.
Those materials are given new life in products families use every day. To date, Target teams have repurposed recycled resin from discarded car seats into more than 690,000 Brightroom and Room Essentials owned-brand products.
Car Seat Trade-In is another example of how meaningful value, curated assortment and elevated experiences come together at Target to help guests shop with confidence and ease.
