The pay range is $95,000.00 - $171,000.00

As a Lead Associate Creative Director (ACD), you will be responsible for leading the creative development of Target’s most visible seasonal and brand campaigns—including Spring, Summer, Fall, Halloween, Back to School/College and Holiday. As part of the Retail Creative team, you will champion Target’s unmistakable brand vision, delivering innovative, breakthrough, guest-centered work that builds brand love and drives meaningful business impact.
This role requires a resilient creative leader with a clear point of view, exceptional retail taste and the ability to influence internal teams and partners across levels. You are both strategic and hands-on—proactively crafting the work with your team while guiding it to the highest standard.

Drive Creative Excellence

  • Lead the development of seasonal and brand campaigns, establishing a strong thematic foundation, starting with our in-store experience that will then ignite and scale into integrated, cross-channel creative systems throughout the season.
  • Ensure cohesive storytelling and elevated craft at every guest touchpoint.
  • Bring a multifaceted expertise of design, art direction, 3D retail systems, branding systems, experiential projects and campaigns paired with a high taste level in retail brand creative.
  • Confidently advocate for strong ideas while managing expectations and outcomes with in-store feasibility.

Lead & Influence

  • Inspire and mentor multidisciplinary creative teams, providing clear, constructive coaching that elevates performance.
  • Lead by example with curiosity, drive and accountability.
  • Identify when change is needed and guide teams through ambiguity with clarity and resilience.
  • You confidently lead the work, are a fluent presenter, and leverage your influence to build trust, align key stakeholders, and sell in creative concepts across the organization.
  • You are an empathetic, inclusive leader who creates an environment where teams feel empowered to do bold, innovative and impactful work.

Partner & Execute

  • Collaborate closely with our Store Experience Business Partners, Creative Leaders, Strategy, Visual Merchandising and Production partners to deliver work that is on-brief, on-brand and on-time.
  • Translate feedback into actionable direction that strengthens the work and maintains momentum.
  • Agility to navigate within a highly matrixed organization, working through and across multiple disciplines, roles, and team structures.

  • Remain deeply attuned to culture, retail trends and evolving guest behaviors.
  • Think strategically about diverse audiences to ensure relevance and impact- seamlessly integrating a multicultural lens.

About You

  • 7-10 years of experience developing integrated seasonal and brand campaigns in retail, brand or agency environments.
  • Proven ability to lead creative teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual strength and high craft standards in retail, brand, campaign, design, typography and photo art direction skills.
  • Deep understanding of seasonal retail campaigns driven by consumer behavior.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge of all CS software and the Mac platform

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
