Sr Financial Analyst FP&A

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) team compiles and analyzes an organization's long-term financial strategy. In addition to creating financial plan and forecasts, FP&A team also generates reports, analyzes financial trends, calculate the effects of business decisions and advise company leaders.

Target India FP&A team supports Target’s operational areas which includes Merchandising Finance, Supply Chain Finance, Digital Finance and Target India Finance teams. This position requires strong analytical, communication, management and strategic thinking skills and ability to partner with senior stakeholders in multiple functions to develop business insights and analytics.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Key responsibility will be to work with different teams within FP&A / Finance to draw out key insights / drive new analytics around different areas of the business
• Build a deep understanding of the business and a broader understanding of its role in the company
• Management reporting (Business Review Reports and Decks / Variance Analysis / Operational Analysis etc.) with detailed commentary and analysis
• Analyze business performance and support decision making by providing stakeholders with meaningful insights and visibility on business performance on a regular basis
• Generate insights into business performance to help drive improve financial results and facilitate data-based decision making
• Assist in preparing Operating Plan / Budgets and forecasts / outlook
• Use data extraction tools like SQL, Hadoop to extract and manipulate large amounts of data
• Build scenarios, plug and play models, what if analysis to simulate the financial impacts of various operational decisions
• Automate routine reports and processes using VBA / Macros / Automation Portal
• Build self-serving dashboards for business teams to quickly obtain and assess data

REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

• Reports to Senior Manager, FP&A (Target India)
• Partner with Finance teams in India
• Partner with Global FP&A teams based out of Minneapolis

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Commerce/ Accounting / Engineering / Management (MBA’s) / Data Analytics backgrounds preferred but not mandatory
• Prior experience in FP&A / Data Analytics in large organizations
• Strong presentation and business storytelling skills
• Detail-oriented
• Ability to multi-task
• Team collaboration skills
• Good business acumen
• Proficiency in Advanced Excel, SQL and Data Visualization tools like DOMO, Tableau, Power BI
• Prior experience in Consumer facing / Retail industries is preferred but not mandatory
