The pay range is $92,000.00 - $166,000.00

A role with Strategic Sourcing is a chance to positively impact several key areas of Target’s business. Your input will ensure that Target realizes the expected value from the terms of our agreements that comprise nearly $15 billion in annual spend towards innovative and competitively priced goods and services. You’ll share and promote best practices across the entire company while developing deep expertise and close client relationships. You’ll also collaborate with internal partners who use world class sourcing tools and processes, build total cost of ownership financial models, ensure contract & catalog management, and deliver operational leadership in order to optimize leverage for Target.  

Position Description

In the role of Strategic Sourcing Contracts Lead, you will support Target’s Procurement organization by providing timely guidance to our team & our internal business partners and will support our contract negotiations with Target’s indirect (non-retail) vendors. Contract negotiations involve multiple contract types, including non-disclosure agreements, goods and services agreements, consulting agreements, and technology agreements (including hardware agreements, software licensing agreements, and software-as-a service (SaaS) agreements). You will act as a liaison to Target’s Law department and other enterprise teams and will play an integral role in achieving successful contract negotiations in a timely manner while balancing between contract risks and business goals.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

· Create and provide written, virtual, and in-person contract training and self-help tools

· Ensure contract templates and resources are up-to-date in contract management systems

· Develop and implement best practices for contract management and administration in compliance with applicable policies, and influence those policies as appropriate

· Collaborate with other enterprise teams to ensure contracts contain appropriate terms and adhere to any compliance measures

· Negotiate with vendor representatives, as appropriate

About you

· Juris Doctor (JD) degree

· Admitted, or eligible for admission, to the Minnesota Bar

· At least 5 years of relevant experience negotiating and drafting agreements for a variety of transactions, including goods, services, and technology

· Experience assessing and balancing contract risks and business goals

· Experience developing and leading innovative contracting strategies that result in best-in-class outcomes on complex/ambiguous programs

· Ability to deliver clear and concise advice in a timely manner in accordance with applicable guidelines and policies

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Independent, organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task on a large number of projects

· Ability to collaborate across departments to drive cross-functional alignment

· Experience with contract management systems and/or e-Procurement systems

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs.  A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.  A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
