Truman Capote's iconic novella “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” is being adapted for the Broadway stage and Target has joined the production in a beautiful way. Long-standing Beauty partners Sonia Kashuk and Umberto worked alongside Colleen Atwood, the production’s Academy Award-winning costume designer, to re-create the timeless Holly Golightly makeup and hair look.

“One of the things we love to do at Target is deliver the unexpected, so we’re always looking for new and fresh ways to position our brand,” says Katie Erickson, vice president, Category Marketing, Target. “Holly Golightly is synonymous with style, and by bringing in Sonia and Umberto, we’re able to introduce our brand to new audiences and demonstrate how they can achieve truly stunning looks using Target’s exclusive beauty and hair care lines.”

Emilia Clarke, the 25-year-old “Game of Thrones” actress, plays Holly, Capote’s complicated heroine and vivacious party darling.

While the movie portrays the 1960s New York, the Broadway musical takes place in the 1940s, the original setting of the novella. “I had to switch decades,” recalls Kashuk, whose mind immediately veered toward the iconic image of Audrey Hepburn [who played the film version of Holly] as the New York society girl. Kashuk sought to create a “very fresh, elegantly refined, classic face” that focused on highlighting beautiful skin.

Umperto, whose hair care line Umberto Beverly Hills is also exclusively sold at Target, says he created a style that nods to the finger wave of the 1940s, but with a more modern turn.
