In 2012, Target became a partner in the 100,000 Jobs Mission, joining other top companies in a pledge to hire 100,000 veterans by 2020. Our team member benefits for activated reservists include pay differential and optional medical coverage for dependents. Through our Human Resources team, we provide proactive Leave of Absence (LOA) guidance and support to ensure smooth employment status transitions for military team members pursuing a LOA.

We value the perspectives and ideas that team members from all backgrounds and experience levels bring to Target. Our Military Business Council, made up of team members at our Minneapolis headquarters, supports our inclusive culture by providing resources and support to team members with a connection to our nation's military and helps us identify opportunities to better serve job candidates, team members and guests with military connections.

Hiring America TV series

We’re embarking on a partnership with Hiring America and Clear Channel to support military veterans as they transition into the workforce. Four of our team member veterans recently shared their success stories for iHeartRadio’s Show Your Stripes initiative, and Target was among the first companies featured in the new Hiring America TV series dedicated to helping veterans find jobs. The episode features Target leaders Marvin Hamilton and Abby Crowder, who discuss how military skills translate into lasting careers.
