Target’s philanthropic efforts are rooted in the company’s purpose of helping all families discover the joy of everyday life and our values of optimism, inclusivity and connection. Community has been, and will continue to be, our focus.
Philanthropy is one way that Target can address some of the toughest social and environmental challenges in our communities. It allows us to draw on our company’s strengths including our team members, store footprint, global reach, products and partners to deliver an even greater impact. We support our communities through the Target Foundation and corporate giving.
We know that the work of the organizations we support matters now more than ever. That’s why Target and the Target Foundation have invested $10 million to expand relief and assistance to our team members and local, national and global organizations responding to the pandemic, supporting the critical work of our partners in communities impacted by the coronavirus.
We demonstrate our commitment to supporting our hometown community through our strong legacy of volunteer engagement, corporate giving, the Target Foundation and local store giving.
In 2018, we donated millions in cash grants and in-kind product donations in the Twin Cities, including corporate giving grants to support local arts and cultural organizations. In addition, we donated more than 5 million pounds of food and team members volunteered more than 176,000 hours in the community.
Our commitment to supporting organizations in the Twin Cities is unwavering, and we will continue to address our community’s needs now and in the future.
