diversity & inclusion

As champions of diversity and inclusivity, we're making our business stronger, building our talented team, and working toward a more equal society.

what we stand for

We believe diversity and inclusivity make teams and Target better. And we’ll live that belief as champions of a more inclusive society by creating a diverse and inclusive work environment, cultivating an inclusive guest experience, and fostering equality in society.

engaging the community

We couldn’t do it alone. We’ve teamed up with key organizations to strengthen the diverse needs of the communities we serve. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in the way we engage in the community, through our innovative programs, partnerships, sponsorships and volunteerism. Here are just a few of our partners:

military & veteran support

We work with agencies and support numerous school and government programs to hire members of the military, and we donate funds and volunteer hours to local and national veteran and military organizations that align with our areas of focus: education, social services and the arts. welcoming our guests

As demographics shift and people define their identities in increasingly nuanced ways, we’ll continue to evolve our guest experience to make sure it reflects the changing world. By intergrating diversity and inclusion throughout our business and company culture, we'll be able to offer guests more innovative and relevant experiences, which leads to growth and competitive advantage. Bottom line: It's good business.

More than 10,000 team members participate in our diversity and inclusion business councils, which provide onboarding, networking and professional development opportunities for team members. The councils represent six groups: African American; Asian American; Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Ally; Hispanic; Military; and Women. We also have more than 100 networks created by team members who share common interests or goals.
