Honoring Military Families on Veterans Day
Every November, Americans commemorate Veteran’s Day as a way to say thanks to those who have served — or continue to serve — our country. For the past five years, we’ve proudly extended a 10% military appreciation discount to all U.S. active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families to use in stores or online in early November. The 10% discount is now available for two-time use and applies to the guest’s entire basket. It’s Target’s most inclusive store-wide offer, with more available products and brands than any other discount. Guests can add a veteran or military family status to their Target Circle profile — making them eligible for bonus offers. Also with Target Circle, any member can vote to direct Target’s community giving funds to local nonprofits in certain markets.
Military Business Council
The Military Business Council (MBC) is one of seven Diversity and Inclusion Business Councils at Target. MBC supports our inclusive culture by providing resources and support to team members with a connection to our nation’s military, and helps us identify opportunities to better serve job candidates, team members and guests with military connections. The MBC’s mission is to create a compelling and engaging community for team members to come together and support those who have served or are serving, including family, friends and allies.
Meet a Few of Our Partners
Target’s support of active-duty military, veterans and their families extends beyond Veteran’s Day. We have created opportunities for our guests to support military and veteran-focused organizations by voting to direct community giving funds to nonprofits in 30 of our top military markets through the end of 2021.
But we also support this community all year through community service, grants and career opportunities for veterans. Year-round, we partner with the USO, Operation Gratitude and The Mission Continues for volunteer events across the country. And as a member of Veteran Jobs Mission, we have joined with other top companies in a pledge to hire more U.S. military veterans – with nearly 300,000 veterans hired coalition-wide to-date.
We work with partners like Hiring America and Clear Channel to support military veterans as they transition into the workforce. Four of our team member veterans shared their success stories for iHeartRadio’s Show Your Stripes initiative, and Target was among the first companies featured in the Hiring America TV series dedicated to helping veterans find jobs.
