In honor of World Emoji Day, we’re giving thanks for all the little icons do for us. They make texting so much easier, emails more lively and recently… they make Target’s self-checkout even more user-friendly and fun.
Since launching self-checkout in Target stores in 2014, we’ve heard great feedback from guests who love having checkout options. And in August, we launched new software to make the process smoother and more intuitive. But there’s been one common guest pain point: buying produce. Searching the full assortment or accidentally selecting the wrong item from a dropdown menu can be frustrating, and we knew there had to be a better way. That’s why the Target tech team recently introduced emojis to make buying fresh fruits and vegetables a whole lot easier—and more enjoyable!
Now available in most Target stores, our updated self-checkout experience includes the ability to find produce by categories with accompanying emojis (a heart for popular items, a carrot for vegetables, a cry-face emoji for onions and so much more!) to help streamline the process and save guests time. Other recent enhancements include: an easy-to-use search function, a filter that allows guests to select from the most commonly-purchased items and a back button to easily correct mistakes. So go ahead, load up your cart with all the produce you need and head to self-checkout—we’ve got you covered.
Stay tuned to A Bullseye View for more ways we’re improving the guest experience and making Target America’s easiest place to shop.
