Summer time and the shopping is easy, since as of this week, more Target guests can now enjoy the fastest Target Run yet. Drive Up, our service that allows guests to place orders in the Target app, then have their items brought right out to their car by a store team member, has expanded to even more stores across the country.
Two hundred additional Target stores across the Midwest and select states have added the time-saving pickup service option. Drive Up is now available in Midwest markets including Chicago; Indianapolis; Columbus, Ohio; Lansing, Michigan; and other cities including Louisville, Kentucky; Erie, Pennsylvania; and South Charleston, West Virginia.
Drive Up has quickly become one of Target’s most popular pickup options thanks to its speed and convenience, with everything from home essentials to clothing to electronics orders brought out to cars within two minutes of when a guest pulls into the store parking lot. One reason? It all happens without ever having to leave the car (anyone who’s ever had to dash to the store with sleeping kids in the backseat knows just how huge this is).
Here’s how it works:
- Select Drive Up as the fulfillment option when placing an order through the Target app
- Target will notify you when your order is ready—usually within one hour
- Hit the “I’m on the Way” button when you’re ready to head to the store
- Park in a designated Drive Up spot, and within two minutes a team member will have the order at your car, ready to be loaded into the trunk or backseat
This week’s expansion brings the total number of Drive Up stores to more than 800 in 25 states and in late August, we’ll expand to even more markets. Nearly 1,000 Target stores will offer the service by the holidays—all part of our effort to use stores to get online orders to guests faster and make Target America’s easiest place to shop.
