Why is it important to refresh a bedroom or bathroom in the new year?
With the craziness of the holidays over, January is a time to recover and focus on the year ahead. For me, I find it easier to get reenergized when I have a space that is luxurious, relaxing and calm, which can be accomplished with simple and functional upgrades to the bathroom and bedroom.
What is your #1 favorite bedroom or bathroom item from Target that should be in everyone’s home?
For the bedroom, my favorite Target items are fresh linens and blankets—whether it’s a new set of sheets from Threshold or a cozy Threshold sweater knit blanket to keep you warm in the middle of the night. For the bathroom, my favorite Target items are the Project 62 modern rose gold bathroom accessories. I love the rose gold finish and find this set to be a really stylish way to decant your Q-tips, makeup pads and cotton balls.
How will you be refreshing your bedroom and bathroom?
I will be taking a lot of my own tips to heart when refreshing my bedroom and bathroom. First, I’ll purge—I LOVE getting rid of all the old products that have only drops left. Then I’ll swap in fresh towels in the bathroom and duvet in the bedroom. From there, I’ll probably add some new stylish vanity accessories and storage in the bathroom and declutter the bedroom to achieve that calm hotel feel. I’m new to the ‘decanting’ field—you know, those people who decant their products into simple glass vessels so the packaging doesn’t create visual chaos. It’s kind of fussy but the payoff is huge and makes me feel like a pulled together grown-up!
