Networking with top industry experts. Debating peers. Solving real-life business challenges. Developing skills to build a career. That’s just a slice of what 14 MBA students from schools across the country have been doing over the past two days at an exclusive event in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The students, all interested in global supply chain and operations, came together to take part in the Target Arrows Camp—a first of its kind experience dedicated to developing logistics talent for the future. It’s a chance for these supply chain enthusiasts to build practical skills through networking, competition, and mentorship with experts and other leaders. It also provides a window into the Target Arrows Leadership Development Program—one of our MBA internship opportunities we offer each year.
What is supply chain and logistics, exactly? Simply put, it’s the network of people, systems and information that ensures we get the right product to the right place at the right time for our guests—and the industry’s evolving at an incredible pace. We’re constantly reimagining how to make Target’s supply chain even faster and more cost-effective. That means building more intelligent automation and algorithms to help our team make better decisions and execute faster, so shopping is easier and more convenient for our guests. So building a pipeline of talented leaders? Pretty important to our company’s future.
“We design programs like our Target Arrows Graduate internship and camp to develop future leaders who will solve complex problems and create new and innovative solutions that will transform global supply chain and logistics,” says Arthur Valdez, Target’s chief supply chain and logistics officer. “We’re thrilled to have the students here, diving in with our teams to learn all about the business and previewing our internship program.”
The group of students let their imaginations take over as they worked together to solve business challenges as part of a group case study. Take a closer look:
