Less than a week to go until Black Friday, and our teams across the country are hard at work getting ready for the big event. Many of our guests make shopping Target a special part of their Thanksgiving tradition—and with the deals we’re serving up, they’ll save more across our assortment than at any other time of the year.
Excited to shop? Plan ahead with these handy tips to make your experience quick, easy and fun.
Make your list
Wondering which doorbusters are up for grabs this year? We’ve got thousands of deals, and you can browse them all right now in our Black Friday Ad.
Set up a Target.com account now
Online shoppers, this is important: You’ll need to log into your Target.com account to check out, so if you don’t have one yet, save time by creating one in advance. Get started here.
Use your REDcard to shop early
Have a REDcard? This year, we’re giving our existing REDcard holders early access to more than 100 Black Friday deals on Target.com starting Nov. 22. And as always, using your REDcard gets you 5% savings on nearly all items and free shipping on Target.com.
Pile on the savings
To start, spend $50 at Target stores or Target.com on Friday, Nov. 24, and you’ll get a coupon for 20% off a future shopping trip (redeemable Nov. 28–Dec. 10). You also can save an extra 5% with your REDcard, get free shipping at Target.com through Dec. 23, and find more great deals on Cartwheel.
Write down these times (and circle them)
Beginning early Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 23, nearly all of our Black Friday deals will be available on Target.com. Heading to the store after dinner? Doors open at 6 p.m. local time Thanksgiving night. Stores will close at midnight, giving our teams a chance to recharge and prepare our stores before we open on Friday at 6 a.m. to greet guests with even more holiday savings.
Map out your route
Shopping at the store? Once you get in line, grab a Black Friday store map from a team member, or pull up the digital version on the Target app for a peek at where each deal is located.
Grab a TV ticket
If you’re hoping to get the 55” Westinghouse TV or 49" TCL UHD TV at the store, ask for a TV ticket—they’ll be handed out to guests in line 30 minutes before doors open on a first-come, first-served basis. Once inside, you have two hours to bring it to the Guest Service desk to pay for and pick up your reserved TV. (That leaves plenty of time to shop other amazing deals first.)
Get all your stuff super quick
Choose from lots of convenient services to get purchases when you want them. For example, use Order Pickup on just about any Black Friday deal on Target.com and pick it up at a nearby store—our teams will have it ready in just one to two hours. Or, if you’re shopping a store and can’t find the right size or color, team members can now use their handheld devices to place and ship an online order for you.
Look ahead to more great deals
Don’t forget—once Black Friday’s over, it doesn’t mean the deals end. On Cyber Monday, Nov. 27, we’ll offer 15% off sitewide on Target.com, plus additional deals each day of Cyber Week (Nov. 26–Dec. 2). Find out more about our hottest Cyber Week deals here.
Speaking of prep, what does it take to get our stores and website ready for the millions of guests we’re expecting during the primetime of holiday shopping? At our 1,800+ stores, teams are stocking shelves with the hottest gifts of the season and making plans for a safe and fun experience. Our trained experts in areas like electronics, beauty and apparel and accessories are studying up on the latest products so they can help guests find what they need. Meanwhile, teams are loading Target.com with thousands of deals and gearing up to ship out millions of orders for speedy delivery.
Sound like a lot of work? It is. Chief Stores Officer Janna Potts and Chief Information and Digital Officer Mike McNamara shared more about how we’re pulling out all the stops to create joyful experiences for guests, no matter when, where or how they shop.
