Break out the pumpkin spice—it’s officially fall! If you’re anything like us, the cooler temps and changing leaves are giving you a serious urge to redecorate. Of course, we encourage all sorts of seasonal spruce-ups—like spice-scented candles, flannel throws and copper accents—but we have another idea, inspired by the sleek aesthetic of Target’s newest home collection, Project 62… let’s go modern for fall!
“The word modern is often misunderstood because it’s associated with a really streamlined, minimalist and geometric aesthetic,” said Target Home Style Expert Emily Henderson. “Target’s new Project 62 Home line is all about that intersection of clean, stylish design and functionality—and the best part is that the products are affordable.”
You heard it here first! Mixing in interesting, modern pieces can give your space the fall facelift it so deserves. Still don’t believe us? We asked Emily to design a space in everything Project 62, and it is stunning. Take a look!

To help bring that inspiration home, Emily shared simple modern decorating tips and some of her favorite pieces from Target’s exclusive new brand. Read on!

“I’m all about small touches that make bold statements. In your living room, try layering the Color-Block Throw Pillows with the existing pillows on your couch and adding the Taper Candle Holders to your dining table. These pieces can be easily incorporated with most décor and will give you that effortlessly modern look. If you’re looking for some bigger-impact pieces, try the Beckstand Apartment Sofa or the Soriano Square Arm Channel Tufted Chair—both of which I love because they’re neutral for everyday use and work great in a small space or a nook.”

“Modern décor is all about clean lines. I love sleek, simple shelves and coffee tables because they complement most existing decor. Try something like the Two-Tone Mid-Century Modern Coffee Table, which is super stylish in simple white and wood, and also reasonably priced.”

“I love the shape of the Delavan Tripod Table Lamp and the simplicity of the Enamel Tray. You can never have too many decorative trays to act as a catchall on your coffee table or as an extra serving piece during parties! On a separate note, incorporating soft goods in different muted and neutral tones with elements that keep them interesting, such as texture and pattern, is an easy way to cozy up your home.”
Project 62 is now available in Target stores and online at Target.com, at prices ranging from $2.99 to $349.99.
