Dining room table set with Friendsgiving decor

Some guests are Friendsgiving vets and some are hosting for the first time. What advice do you have for beginners and experts alike?
From the start, make a master to-do list that includes every task you need to get done in preparation, with deadlines, and then hang it on the fridge to remind yourself to stay on track. A great party that feels effortless is really all about careful planning that lets you kick back and relax once party time rolls around! Also, serve food family-style. Set out platters of food on the table and let everyone pass them around, to make things easier on the host and to get everyone interacting and conversing around the table.

Buffet set with a punchbowl and appetizers

In your video, you had the brilliant idea of making the Friendsgiving meal a potluck. How can guests prep for that?
I had plenty of serving dishes, like the Thankful Serving Platter, and garnishes at the ready that we used to create a beautiful spread with everyone’s contributions. And stir up a party punch! I love the Project 62 Copper Punch Bowl because it’s simple, stylish and is great for dinner parties year-round. My guests loved the festive spiked punch, and allowing them to help themselves to drinks made it easier for everyone!

Cozy pillows and throws arranged in front of the fireplace

You picked out a lot of great pieces from Target’s new fall collections! What made Target your go-to for Friendsgiving décor?
I love that Target has beautifully designed holiday pieces at truly affordable prices. It allows me to incorporate a few fun, new elements into my holiday collection each year without breaking the bank. This year, I’m loving Threshold’s fall collection of beautiful, textural pieces in metallic, wood and marble that transform my home and make it feel so inviting for guests during the holidays.

Speaking of Target products, which were your favorite this year?
With so many beautiful pieces, it’s really hard to choose favorites! But the Faux Fur and Mohair Oversized Pillows and throws made my living room feel super cozy. The Hammered Copper Serving Tray added a warm metallic element to the table, and is a timeless piece that I know I’ll love using year after year. And the Vista Library Cabinet with Glass is my favorite new piece of furniture. It’s really versatile, and would work well holding towels in the bathroom, as it would storing dishes in the dining room.
